Brainwave Echolocation is a specialized ability used by Kokone Otowa. It allows her to convert the brain waves of nearby people into sound, enabling her to determine their locations and hear representations of their inner voices.
Overview
Brainwave Echolocation is an amplified form of the echolocation naturally used by bats. Instead of relying only on reflected sound to identify physical objects, Kokone interprets the brain waves produced by people within her surroundings as audible signals. This ability allows Kokone to search large areas for specific individuals, track the positions of nearby people, and listen to their thoughts as if they were spoken aloud. However, the information she receives must still be interpreted, meaning the ability does not automatically reveal whether a person is guilty or dangerous.
Limitations
Kokone can use Brainwave Echolocation for a total of approximately three minutes each day. Because of this restriction, she must avoid wasting the ability during investigations. Using it in a crowded location can also overwhelm Kokone with numerous overlapping thoughts and voices.
