Momo Uzaki is a supporting character in the Animal Signal manga series. She is an office staff member of the Anima Control Center and a Rabbit Anima user.
Appearance
Momo is a young woman with long, wavy hair, straight bangs, and large rabbit ears growing from the top of her head. Her Rabbit Anima also gives her a small rabbit-like nose and patches of fur around her cheeks and neck.
While working at the Anima Control Center, Momo wears a collared blouse with a ribbon and a dark vest. During her day off, she wears a thick turtleneck sweater beneath a dark off-the-shoulder dress.
Personality
Momo is normally responsible, practical, and some what strict. As an office staff member, she takes the rules of the Anima Control Center seriously and reprimands Kokone Otowa for accepting assignments without authorization. Despite this, she appears to care about Kokone and is willing to assist her when necessary. Momo's calm personality is partly maintained by medication that suppresses her rabbit instincts. When she misses a dose, she becomes extremely affectionate, excitable, impulsive, and physically aggressive. She may cling to people without warning and react violently when frightened or irritated. Even while overwhelmed by her instincts, however, Momo retains her desire to help others and immediately pursues a thief after witnessing him steal a woman's purse.
Abilities
Momo possesses an unusually powerful Rabbit Anima and has a high proportion of visible animal characteristics. Her rabbit instincts manifest easily, requiring her to take medication regularly to keep them under control.
Limitations
Momo takes daily medication to suppress the instincts produced by her Rabbit Anima. When she misses a dose, her emotions and animal impulses gradually become uncontrollable. Excitement, affection, fear, or irritation can cause her body to enter an overactive state, making her dangerous even to her allies.
Relationships
Momo and Kokone are coworkers at the Anima Control Center. Momo frequently lectures Kokone for acting impulsively or accepting assignments without permission, making her one of the few people willing to firmly enforce the organization's rules around her.
Despite her strict attitude, Momo cares about Kokone and works alongside her when necessary. Kokone recognizes Momo's strength and declares her the most valuable member of the group after she defeats the purse thief. However, praising Momo while her medication is inactive causes her to become even more excited and destructive.
Momo knows Tsubasa as Kokone's partner and fellow member of the Anima Control Center. Tsubasa understands the biological effects of her Rabbit Anima and knows that her medication is necessary to suppress her instincts.
When Momo begins feeling weak after missing her medication, Tsubasa supports her and attempts to escort her to the Hinata Anima Clinic. As her instincts intensify, she becomes unusually affectionate toward him and repeatedly clings to him. Tsubasa remains patient with her despite being struck and injured several times by her uncontrolled strength.
